About Mason Spur
An older trachytic volcanic complex at Mason Spur is overlain by a younger sequence consisting of a trachytic dome, tuff rings, and numerous basanite and tephrite cinder cones. Several lava flows drape over the bluffs, and may be less than 100,000 years old (LeMasurier and Thomson, 1990).
